In Her Own Words

What do you LOVE about working at Sierra?

"I joined Sierra because I enjoy working in a very specialized field related to ocular clinical trials. The start of a new clinical trial is always very exciting as an investigator, but there are so many aspects of it that take a lot of time and dedication to make sure the trial is run well. I look forward to working directly with clinical sites to help them find the best way to perform trials efficiently and thoroughly in their individual setting." - Kim

What do you LOVE about your role?

"What sets Sierra apart from other companies is definitely the people that work there. Sierra is a small, but very mighty team that is made up of people that are all very knowledgeable in their specific field. Everyone is able to communicate with sponsors and sites in a way that is friendly and open. As a clinical site I always felt that everyone on the Sierra team was there to support our efforts above anything else." - Kim

Most IMPACTFUL study you have worked on:

"I am new to the Sierra family, but have worked with Aaron and the Sierra team on numerous projects as a clinical investigator. The experience that was most impactful to me was going through an FDA audit for the Revision Optics Presbyopic Inlay, which was the first corneal inlay to ever gain FDA approval.

Going through an FDA audit is something that I think every investigator should experience in order to become a better clinical site, but it is a very intimidating process that I could not have gone through without Aaron and Sierra Clinical by my side." - Kim

Most IMPACTFUL study you have worked on:

"The most memorable study I have ever worked on was a Phase I/First in Man study in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I worked on two different cataract trials over a period of 3 years. Working in a third world country was very humbling. I met some of the sweetest, most generous people who had nothing but the clothes on their back, sometimes, not even shoes but were looking for an opportunity to better their life with the chance to see. Most patients walked hours to get to the clinic, then didn't mind waiting a couple of hours to be seen for their 2-3 hour exam. These patients never complained about their wait and were so grateful for our help in making their lives easier. Little did they know how much they changed my life. I will be forever grateful for what each and every one of them taught me as a human being." - Aimee
